BARKS OF LOVE ADOPTION POLICY
Barks of Love seeks permanent, loving homes where our rescued dogs can live a long, happy and healthy life as part of a family. Adopters must be located in Orange County, CA, or Inland Empire, CA.
We ask that should the adoption be unsuccessful for any reason, the pet be returned to Barks of Love to find the right home.

Although Barks of Love does their best to maintain a healthy environment, there are NO expressed or implied guarantees relative to the health or temperament of the animal.

Decisions on placing dogs in adoptive & foster homes are based solely on the judgment of Barks of Love. Adoption or foster applications may be denied for various reasons. Barks of Love reserves the right to refuse to adopt or foster to anyone without disclosing the reasons, as well as, make all decisions regarding placement or final arrangement(s) of any rescued dog in its care; whether in or being placed in, a foster or adoptive home.
- All pets will be spayed or neutered, with the exception of puppies who are 5 months and younger. Following adoption it will be the owners responsibility to take their new pet to a Barks of Love affiliated vet to complete this procedure.
- All pets will be current on vaccinations appropriate to their age at the time of adoption.

- Vet Evaluation
- Microchip
- Flea Treatment
- Dewormer/Fecal Exam
- Spay/Neuter
- Appropriate Vaccinations (based on age)

Conditions of Adoption:
- All members of the household must be seen interacting with the animal they wish to adopt, especially children. This is important not only for safety, but to see how the pet interacts with all members of their potential new family.
- If you rent your home, a Barks of Love staff member will contact your landlord directly.
- If the adoptive family includes existing dog(s) we will schedule a supervised introduction. While this does not guarantee the dogs will get along perfectly, during these observation times the animals will show us if there is the potential for issues.
Adoptive Families Must:
- Be at least 21 years of age
- Provide a valid Driver's License
- Be willing to allow an authorized representative of Barks of Love to inspect the home prior to adoption, if deemed necessary.
- Agree to comply with all City, County, State and Federal laws governing animals.
- Read carefully the terms of our adoption agreement and be willing to agree to the terms of the contract.
