We don't break hearts...we save 'em!

Orange County's All Breed, 100% NO KILL,

CA Non-Profit Animal Rescue

Barks of Love Animal Rescue is a California non-profit group, staffed by volunteers. Our goal is to decrease the total number of animals being euthanized in shelters each year by finding new, permanent homes for them.

Our animals come from a variety of circumstances - Most are rescued from "Death Row" at local shelters, while others are brought to us by their owners as an alternative to the shelter, and others are just found afraid and abandoned on the streets.

Barks of Love has no paid employees and does not receive funding from any government agency.
We are staffed entirely by volunteers and obtain funds solely from adoption donations, fundraisers, and donations
.

Meet Candie!

I was rescued from the Orange County Animal Shelter with the worst case of mange you have ever seen - I have been on strict treatment, eating well, & getting love by so many people - my mange is cleared up & I am so beautiful now

I'm about 40lbs, female APBT/Staffy mix & love people & other dogs. I love to play & I'm such a good girl - Barks of Love saved me & they have been so wonderful to me but I would love to find a home to call my own..Could that home be with you?
Celebrate 4th of July!

Protect your pet:

-Resist the urge to take your pet to fireworks displays

-Do not leave your pet in the car

-Keep your pets indoors at home in a sheltered, quiet area....Leave a television or radio playing at normal volume to keep him/her company

-If you know your pet is seriously distressed by loud noises, consult with your vet for ways to help alleviate fear & anxiety he/she

-Never leave pets outside unattended, even in a fenced yard or on a chain. In their fear, pets who normally wouldn't leave the yard may escape

-Make sure your pets are wearing identification tagsso that if they do become lost, they can be returned promptly
Meet Quattro

Hi, My name is Quattro!!

I am a Loverboy...My foster parents think I might be part French because I like women, food, and kissing!

I love to play with my brother Duncan but really like to relax next to my foster mommy on the couch or bed. I like company and will let you know that I want to jump on your bed since I am very "vocal"; I might want to play at first but I can mellow out pretty quickly too. I can go on the potty pad and understand basic commands; I can't wait to learn everything my future parents will teach me :)

Meet Ferris

Ferris is an Australian Shepherd/Keeshound mix with tons of love for everyone. Rescued from the Pasadena Shelter where his previous owners abandoned him.

He has tons of energy & would love to be in a home where his owner needs an exercise buddy, or with another dog that he could play with. He absolutelyloves the dog park and beach.

Since moving in with his foster parents he has learned sit, lie down, stay, & is fully housebroken. Ferris is an adventurous, outgoing guy who just wants to give and get tons of love.

Ferris would be better is a home with children over 10 years of age ... Adopt Ferris!!

Dog Alert!!

Meet Zippy!

Zippy is super sweet & affectionate. He loves to snuggle & give lots of kisses. He is very energetic & playful and loves to chase his tennis ball around the house. He walks well on a leash...pulls a little, but is already getting better with his leash manners.

Zippy is a young 3 year old, about 16 lbs, & would do best in a home with children ages 10 & up (he's working on understanding personal space).

If you're looking for a cuddle bug, contact us about Zippy today: adopt@barksoflove.org
All up for adoption ... All waiting for their furever homes!

Meet Cody!

10 month old, male, neutered puppy who was rescued with *MAX* after being dumped at the pound by their owners. He looks like the cartoon character Bolt from the Walt Disney movie! He was listed as a Chihuahua , but we suspect him to be a Shiba Inu mix. He currently weighs 17 pounds & will probably not grow much bigger. He has a gorgeous, soft coat & although it's difficult to see in his pictures, he has pale, cream markings on his back...he is absolutely stunning & these pictures don't do this cutie any justice! Adopt@barksoflove.org
